Jamie Wong
Hi, I am a level 2 USAC coach who has ridden now for six years. I first started riding to have a common hobby with my brother when I would visit him in California. I have usually been more athletic than him in most regards, but cycling has brought new challenges into the picture as it requires different abilities than most high profile sports. I decided to buy a pair of powercranks to try to train smarter and more efficiently so I can keep up with him on the hills....

Solid day of riding results from the 'cranks!

Today's result was a solid 52 mile ride locked out, but under 3 hours. I'm really psyched about this because I have never done this sort of speed before. The closest I have come is riding 50 in about 3 hours, but this was riding with a group drafting in a paceline. On top of this, I chose the route with as much elevation as I could, which although not much by other states' standards, for MA, it is the best we can do. I really can only attribute this to training with PCs and that being said, my quads are well below their capabilities.

Unfortunately I have no powertap data as the machine is failing after being 4 years old, and I am in touch with the good folks at Saris who will hopefully put me back on the road to training with power. However, I feel these aspects are less important as training tool, the PCs just require logging in time.
