Hi, I am a level 2 USAC coach who has ridden now for six years. I first started riding to have a common hobby with my brother when I would visit him in California. I have usually been more athletic than him in most regards, but cycling has brought new challenges into the picture as it requires different abilities than most high profile sports. I decided to buy a pair of powercranks to try to train smarter and more efficiently so I can keep up with him on the hills....

28 miles of spinning!!! This is great!
My goals have been to work on endurance for a 2 hour ride. I've been able to ride that length which is to the end of the bike path and back, but I often end up coasting a good deal when there are the downhills. Much like a gear restricted ride, the goal is to sit in the 50-24 and just spin away. Uphill, downhill, just spin, spin, spin, working on leg speed and overall endurance. It's obvious from the title that I accomplished this which is a great feat at being only roughly 50 days into possessing the PCs!!! The other good thing is that I was fine walking around at work and didn't feel a whole lot of sustained fatigue. I think that I can recover from that kind of ride and do something the next day, however, I'm going to take a rest day in between, because a little extra time for adaptation never hurt anyone.
As expected, sustained leg speed means better stats in almost every department! And this was just going for consistency.....
Stats:
t = 2hr; d = 28 mi; AvgP = 137; AvgCad = 88; CP5' = 195
