A minor mental setback
By Claus Bech | Published  01/1/2008
So I´ve arrived in Tucson and it´s gotta be a cyclists Paradise! After the first three days/10 hrs on fixed cranks, I decided to put on my new Lock Out PowerCranks. I was looking foreward to getting back on them, but unfortunately I really sucked - just like starting over again...
The first ride was a few hours after completing a 94 min. run, so fatigue was probably part of the reason I felt so bad.
The next day I did the same routine: 75 min run and the following PC-ride was easier - I could start playing around with cadence and speed, so hopefully a little rest and riding fully recovered should feel much better.
By the way, the Lock Outs are even bigger and heavier than basic PC´s, which was kind of a mental blow, untill I convinced myself that the overall purpose is still training and not a hilly TT up Mt. lemmon...
