out of the saddle
By Marco Pinotti | Published  12/8/2007
Last week I've been training in Maiorca with my team High Road. We've been doing base and endurance long group rides, up to 5 hrs. Then in the afternoon we worked to improve our core stability and strength under the advise of Darcy Norman. He noted that I improved a lot my core performances and when I told him I started using Powercranks, he said that helped a lot.
The first day after the camp I wanted to go out for a short but efficient ride so I took my bike away from the hometrainer and went on the road for a very good 2hrs ride with Powercranks. The week off seems to have not affected my hip ability and I decided to do also a small hill 4 kms long. It's much easier to ride into the climb as the pedal stroke it's similar to the normal cranks. At a very steep point I was almost stopping when I instinctively jumped out of the saddle and I found myself riding for a few second like dancing on the pedal. The feeling has been amazing and I was surprised I am able to ride out the saddle after only about ten PC rides, most of them indoor.
More improvements are coming, I believe.
