first ride on the road
By Marco Pinotti | Published  11/20/2007
Today I completed a relatively long ride on the road with PowerCranks. In the previous 2 days I have been riding on the rollers in the afternoon after training in the morning with normal cranks. But I wanted to taste how it feels and gain some endurance for my hips and decided to go out for a longer time. I did a flat ride, even if on some small hills it was easier and I have been riding the descent with both legs to the bottom for a few seconds, before starting the routine all over again.
I stopped for a few minutes every 10 kms to let my legs recover. After 30 kms I went back feeling tired. On my way home, I focused on pedaling at a lower cadence in a big gear so that I could pedal more even circles for longer periods of time. But in the end I think I have been pedalling onty half of the time, resting for a few seconds every minute.
In the end I have rode 60 kms in 2h15'. Of course it's a lot more than expected and I'll pay attention to not burn in the next days. My left leg is more tired and bad than the right one. The PCranks points out what is your weak leg and I am sure that using Powercranks this winter will help me to pedal more even next year.
