Dezmin Wilder
Everyone calls me Dez, I live and work in Sacramento, CA and I'm currently racing xc mountain bikes in the semi-pro class. I focus on the longer distance events such as 12 and 24 hour events and generally ride a single speed. I am turning 21 this year and have only been racing for two seasons, but I'm in love with cycling and hope to one day ride bikes for a living. I am currently racing for the Cannondale/Bear Naked mountain bike team and I'm having a blast with it!

I'm back on the PCs after a couple of days off the bike due to illness. I was surprised by ow difficult yesterday was, although I'm sure that part of my lack of power was due to recovering from being sick. I'm actually pretty angry right now because I've come to the realization that i have absolutely no desire to ride a road bike with normal cranks any longer, meaning that the bike which i bought less than a month ago simply sits in my garage while i ride my super low end beater bike equipped with PCs day after day.

Dang it! Well, i guess it's time to throw the standard road bike on ebay and try to get some cash back out of it. I just don't feel like I'm getting a good training ride in now when i ride my normal road bike, and training is the only reason i ride a road bike at all, so it makes sense to get the most out of my time spent in the saddle.

I road the hills again today, jeez! Talk about a painful experience, it was glorious in a very masochistic sort of way....good stuff, i'm going to be a beast by next season, if Andrew doesn't kill me first. He's trying to convince me to go ride more ridiculously long distances, and i'm sure i will, but for now, i'm still recovering emotionally from my first hundred mile endeavor.
