Training
By Darren Lill | Published  08/6/2007

Yesterday I did a 5hr 45min ride on my new Power Cranks. It was a bit like jumping in the deep end, as I have only done three 3hr rides on them since getting them from Power Cranks just over two weeks ago. This is due to my only being able to do one ride before going away for ten days to race Mt Holly, then Tour de Toona. This last week I just did two easy 3hr rides, before doing the longer one on Sun.

Towards the end of the ride, I was definitely starting to “feel it”, but attribute that to lifting the actual weight of the crank arms, rather than my pedal stroke “retained memory” not being there after seven months of not riding Power Cranks. In fact, I’m happy to see how much muscle memory I have retained thanks to training on Power Cranks in the past!

Today I took a recovery day, as I’ve just come off a decent block of racing and am taking it easy at the moment.
