I am a Professional Triathlete out of Utah. I grew up as a very competative athlete, but mostly competed in swimming. I got into triathlons in 2001 to get myself to loose weight after getting married. I was addicted ever since. I am 29 years old and I am married with two beautiful daughters that keep me going and make doing triathlons all worth while. When I started Tri I weighed around 220 from the lack of exercise. I love the training and the shape I get with training for triathlons.

Wow!!! Man this is hard!

I got my PowerCranks in May, and could not wait to throw them on my bike and get going.  I heard a lot of the, "the first time you use them you won\'t be able to ride very long".  But of course I thought I would be the exception to the rule.  So as my excitement kept building up more and more as I got closer and closer to haven't my bike ready to ride and try them out.  Soon enough that changed as soon as I got on them and headed down the road for a nice long 1min ride using both legs cause that was all I could handle.  But even though my thought of being able to do them no problem was crushed immediately I found my self with a huge grin on my face.  The thought that was running through my head as my legs felt like they were on fire and going to fall off, was that man I am going to get so much faster with these things, and that is were the huge smile on my face came from.
I have been using the power cranks for just over a month and have been blown away with how much stronger I feel on the bike and now also on the run.  I have not yet been able to do any power meter measurements from what I was doing before PC.  With what I have been able to feel going off of perceived exertion has been incredible.  My last two races have gone better than I could have imagined.  I race in the Honu Half Ironman and I rode to a new PR on the bike and I wasn\'t as tapered and ready for the race as I should have been.  Then I was able to get off the bike and run amazingly strong in the extreme heat and humidity, which usually destroys me on the run.  I just kept feeling stronger and faster throughout the run.  Then at my last local Olympic race I rode great and got off and ran unbelievable and for the first time in my triathlon career I was able to negative split the run by quite a bit.  And I was able to hold off some amazingly fast runners that usually run me down.  I cannot say enough already about PC and how much they are helping me already and getting me to that next level.  I love to get out on my PC and train because every time no matter how hard or slow I am going I feel and know that I am getting stronger and more efficient with every pedal stroke.

Thanks PowerCranks,

Heath Thurston
